CROA Art Photos

Well, Shiver me timbers! We may add a photo or two to our blog page!
Before you venture out on the Grave Yard of the Pacific at the mouth of the Columbia River,( "Roll On"), in a Tall Ship from Baker Bay at the North Jetty, cast your eyes upon a vision or two.

CROA on the Pacific

The Columbia River Organization of Artists is moving into it's fourth year. We are a small club and meet in the Ilwaco Community Center in SW WA. However, the community center lucked into a grant to remodel during 2008. So, we are floating somewhat among members homes.
During this time we will remain active through the Astoria Visual Arts Center (AVA) across the Columbia River in Oregon. We hope to have an "All Things Paper" show at the AVA in February.
When we are active, we have fund-raising art sales and shows that have been progressively well attended. Our newsletter, the CROA-GRAM, keeps our membership in touch. We are currently distributing a 2008 calendar that features art work appearing on the AVA web page.
Our purpose is to encourage and support artists and hobbyists on the south end of the peninsula. We are, of course, non-profit. I wish I could upload photos to acquaint you with us!
Among our members we have oil painters, watercolorists, ceramic artists, jewelry crafters, card collage designers, pen & ink experts and a llama wool spinner who knits fine lacy scarves.
Here on the Long Beach Peninsula we are blessed with an incredible natural environment of expansive dunes, pristine beaches, romantic light houses (2) and tiers of surf that defy taming.
It is a biome that is truly relaxing. BM

CROA Welcome! November 2007

Welcome!
Come visit the Long Beach Peninsula in southwest Washington state. We are a vacation paradise. Very long beach! Very scenic. Fishing. Across the river from Astoria, OR. Lots of summer festivals. And art organizations. See a sample of our wares at www.astoriaarts.com/croa.
I am Barbara M. Martin, the chairperson of CROA, as we are known. Drop us a line. What questions can we answer? You can subscribe to our newsletter, the CROA-GRAM, at CROA, PO Box 1303, Long Beach, WA 98631. $10 subscription makes you a member from April of each year yearly.

Happy (?) Holidays

Here it comes, here comes the night, oh-yeah. sung to. the Holidays suddenly take on a perspective that deepens with every death in an oil-religious-hemispheric conflict. Bring the soldiers home. Poor souls who find no rest once they return! How long before the spill in San Fancisco Bay seeps up to the Long Beach coast at the Columbia river? And what about the Dead Sea. How dead is this site? Post us.
