RAVEN'S HAVEN by Judy Leonard, Jan. 08

Ah, well, Christmas and winter are here. Of course, I thought winter came in November and Christmas in August! Well, not quite! But I have been making Santas and presents since then. Now my baking is all over and my orders finished, mailed and received, and I can only think of the New Year ahead. My personal point of view is: it will be rather sucky.
So get real creative! Money is tight, so products and gifts should be smaller and cheaper. That’s hard to do with everything going up. But it can be done.
We are fortunate to create off the land. We are covered with a landscape and seascape of riches. We can make all sorts of crafts and miniature paintings. Trade items each other needs to create projects. I need plants and trees as the storms made a mess of our yard. No more “forever yard sale”, as my portable garage is destroyed and so was the merchandise. Shops are o.k. tho’, and they are well stocked. So get creative and put on winter wear and clean up the mess! I’m looking forward to many dump runs. That’s not creative but I can think of ideas that will live thru storms better and work a little harder to use tougher plants. Think smaller, I guess. Lost my beautiful magnolia tree even though it was staked. It broke my heart; I cried; I loved my little tree.
But the New Year is coming and spring makes you well again. In the meantime, enjoy the Christmas season of good food, goodies and maybe a gift or two. Blessed Be to All and I still say “ Merry Christmas!” Judy

Hi Judy,
Stumbled on this on internet.
Sorry to hear about the storms.
Hope things will go better as spring approaches! Say Hi! to ol' Derek for me! Lots of rain here too!
Sue
